Practice Tests

In this unit, four practice tests have been created in order to help you test your knowledge. Most of the questions are
in multiple choice format. The practice test will automatically correct your answers (to the multiple choice questions) and provide feedback for these questions. For the short and long answer questions, you are advised to type out your answer in the space provide, but be aware that the program will not correct these answers; however, it will display the correct answer for you to compare your answer.

Practice Test #1: Using the Light Microscope
Concepts on this test include:
  • parts of the microscope
  • functions of the microscope
  • how to use the microscope
  • rules of using a microscope
  • proper format for biological diagrams
  • estimation of cell size
  •

Practice Test #2: Plant and Animal Cells
    Concepts on this test include:
  • organelles in both plant and animal cells
  • comparing plant and animal cells
  • identifying cells as plant or animal
  •

Practice Test #3: Diffusion and Osmosis
    Concepts on this test include:
  • diffusion
  • osmosis
  • turgor pressure
  • endocytosis (and phagocytosis)
  • exocytosis
  •

Practice Test #4: Unicellular and Multicellular Organisms
    Concepts on this test include:
  • types (and examples) of unicellular organisms
  • unicellular division
  • comparing unicellular and multicellular organisms
  • organization of cells within multicellular organisms
  • cell division in multicellular organisms
  • cell cycle
